uAlign Authors: How do I create a link to uPerform content?

Objective

Each uAlign Message contains a title, text, and optional (though highly recommended) knowledge-check questions or survey questions.  An author can insert one or more links to uPerform content within a message's text. 

NOTE: Prior to publishing a uAlign message containing links to uPerform content, ensure that the message recipients have access to uPerform, as well as access rights to the linked content.

Procedure

There are two options for accomplishing this:

Option 1 - Provide a unique link directly to a published document in the desired language. Each separate translation of a uPerform document has its own distinct URL, so you can use these unique URLs to create the proper link within a uAlign message to the desired uPerform content in the specific desired language.

For example:

  • If you want to link to the English US version of the “Create Purchase Order” document, you can use something like http://demo.ancileuperform.com/gm/folder-1.11.3848?mode=EU. 
  • If you want to link to the French (France) version of the same “Create Purchase Order” document, you can use http://demo.ancileuperform.com/gm/folder-1.11.3861?mode=EU.

 

  1. On the uPerform end user website, navigate to the desired document in the specific desired language.
  2. Copy the web address displayed in the web browser.
  3. In uAlign, ensure that the proper organization name is displayed in the upper left.
  4. Create a new message or open an existing message to edit.
  5. In the Content field, highlight the text to link.
  6. Click the Link icon in the text editor toolbar and select Insert Link.
  7. In the Link window, enter the web address (copied in step 2) into the URL field and click Insert.

 


Option 2 – Create a folder in the uPerform end user website which contains the published documents in each specific language, then link to this uPerform folder in the uAlign message. Rather than supplying unique links for each language variant (as in Option 1 above), you can supply one link to a folder that allows uPerform to supply the correct language version of the document based upon the user’s language setting.

  1. On the uPerform end user website, navigate to the folder containing the published documents in each specific language.
  2. Copy the web address displayed in the web browser.
  3. In uAlign, ensure that the proper organization name is displayed in the upper left.
  4. Create a new message or open an existing message to edit.
  5. In the Content field, highlight the text to link.
  6. Click the Link icon in the text editor toolbar and select Insert Link.
  7. In the Link window, enter the web address (copied in step 2) into the URL field and click Insert.
