uAlign Administrators: How should a CSV file used for bulk user import and assignment be formatted?

A uAlign administrator can invite multiple new users in bulk and assign multiple users to a group in bulk using a comma-separated value (CSV) file. The user's email address is the only required information.

The preferred construction of the email addresses in the CSV file is one of the following:

- On a single line, with each email address separated by a comma:,,

- On multiple lines, one per each email address:


If uAlign displays the message, "The CSV file could not be read.", please ensure that the CSV file uses UTF-8 encoding, and that all email addresses in the CSV file are valid. A valid email address may consist of any combination of:

  • latin alphabetic characters A-Z or a-z
  • digits 0-9
  • any of the special characters:  ! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` . { | } ~
  • a period (".") may also appear, but may not be used to start or end the local part of the email (i.e. or, nor may two or more consecutive periods appear (i.e.
